My 1989 Volkswagen Cabriolet at 4:30am one recent Saturday morning (1-30-2010) in Clarksville, TN, where it has been years since we've gotten "real" snow... This was the morning my "Cabby" had its first "snow trial" as I made my way in to work some overtime...
The question has been posed in the Cabriolet subforum I frequent at vwvortex.com regarding how well these cars will do in the snow. I found mine did great since it hasn't been lowered (it has an approximate quarter-inch drop with its new springs) and has good all-season radials all around. My main concern was "plowing" with the front valence/lip, especially once chunks of ice/frozen snow began appearing in the roadways. Any snow much deeper than the five or six inches we received in this storm would have likely made things far more challenging... HomeTowneSuites posted a video:
