Dear Boss,

We won't be in today...

Quietly falling

Just after midnight and well on the way to a day off from work. Tracks at the top left of the frame show where a little car gave up its effort to take a shortcut through our neighborhood.

Good forecast!

Daylight was especially bright with the reflection from 6 inches of snow.

Snow Cabby in Clarksville, Tennessee

My 1989 Volkswagen Cabriolet at 4:30am one recent Saturday morning (1-30-2010) in Clarksville, TN, where it has been years since we've gotten "real" snow... This was the morning my "Cabby" had its first "snow trial" as I made my way in to work some overtime...

The question has been posed in the Cabriolet subforum I frequent at vwvortex.com regarding how well these cars will do in the snow. I found mine did great since it hasn't been lowered (it has an approximate quarter-inch drop with its new springs) and has good all-season radials all around. My main concern was "plowing" with the front valence/lip, especially once chunks of ice/frozen snow began appearing in the roadways. Any snow much deeper than the five or six inches we received in this storm would have likely made things far more challenging...
